song to the siren

90 seconds is the time you have once the siren starts to find shelter from the missiles. in our case, it meant running down the stairs to the ground floor. then you hear an explosion, wait 10 minutes and go back to your life, until the next siren.

    1. In Israel you come home to find magnets on your door - advertising plumbers, electricians etc. They stick to the door because it's reinforced against burglers. Usually some of the magnets advertise expert locksmiths...

    1. Israeli forces actually phone palestinians in Gaza before dropping bombs on their houses (where they store missiles - in the house's basements). I'm not joking. We hate to see innocent people get hurt. Another common practice is to drop a small bomb on the roof minutes before dropping a big one, to give civilians a chance to flee. This practice is called "a knock on the roof".
Israel attacks the source of the missile launches, minutes after each launch. If the launch was made from a civilian territory, there is, unfortunately, a chance of harming civilians.

  6. You're not reading the civil defense instructions carefully. You should NOT go to the ground floor if you have no protected room. Here's what it says:
If you live on the top floor of a building with more than 3 floors, then go down 2 floors. If you live in a building with 3 floors, go down 1 floor. The ground floor is not safe.
